Our Town - Amboise

This is the town where we are living in our country house. It is called Amboise and has lots of very old buildings.

There is a big white chateau on top of the hill which looks down over the town and the river. The river is called the Loire.

A king called Henry II lived in this castle. He had a very nice bedroom.

The king had lots of knights to protect him from his enemies. They wore suits of armour like this one. Sometimes their horses wore armour too!

The knights used weapons like this long pike to protect themselves and the king from their enemies.

I think it was dangerous to live in medieval times!

Thank you very much for sending me the class photo and telling me about the butterflies. I will be looking for them in case they flew a long way to France!

  2. Dear Olivia,

The maze looks really hard!! The gardens look pretty!! We wish we could go inside a chateau! We enjoy seeing pictures from your trip! We want to go there too.

We wish you could see the butterflies! They have all changed into butterflies through the process of metamorphosis! Today we are going to let the butterflies go into the wild! We are sad to see them go =(. We have twelve butterflies altogether!

We are learning about the Arctic Habitat! Brrrr! We got new books on all the team tables! We wish you could see all the beautiful pictures in the books!

    We miss you so much!

  3. Hi Olivia and Family!

You look very dangerous!!!! We like the King's bedroom too! The town you live in looks very cool! We think the knights Armour is AWESOME! We all want to wear it!

We got to see something very special at school today. . .It was the last Atlantis space shuttle launch! When it was going up it looked like fire. The smoke lingered in the sky even when the space shuttle was gone! The space shuttle (Atlantis) was launched from Kennedy Space Center! Could you see the shuttle from France?? Then we came back in the classroom and watched it on TV. We saw the Earth!!!!

We did release the butterflies too! They all fluttered away but some of us got to hold them on our finger tips! Noah held a butterfly for the longest and when it flew away it went back to Noah! The butterfly loved Noah! The butterflies will miss us but they are excited to be in the wild!

It is dismissal! We have to run like the wind!! Love you lots!

    XOXXOO,
